Pain Diary App Provides Doctors With Insights Through New Reports

August 26, 2013
Manage My Pain produces reports for doctors that better enable treatment and management of chronic pain.
Medical professionals have always advocated that patients suffering from chronic pain due to conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraines, arthritis, or back pain, should track their pain through a diary. A pain diary app can be a foundational part of a self-management program; however, the challenge is how to get insights from the hundreds of potential logs.

Manage My Pain's new reports are able to parse through a patient's pain diary and produce a highly-relevant and insightful single-page summary for doctors. The summary is supplemented with more detailed graphs and charts for those who wish to better understand a particular aspect of the user's pain, such as the aggravating or alleviating factors.

"These reports have been developed in conjunction with both patients and anesthesiologists," said Michelle Janmohamed, Vice President, ManagingLife. "Feedback from both doctors and users has been extremely positive, with many telling us that the reports have enabled more effective treatments such as a medication reduction or a change in lifestyle."

Since September 2011, Manage My Pain for Android has helped thousands of pain sufferers better understand their symptoms and provide evidence of their pain for their doctors, insurance providers or government agencies to support disability claims. Manage My Pain Pro or Manage My Pain Lite can be downloaded from either Google Play or the Amazon Appstore.
